It was my understanding that George Miller wanted to make this movie in 3D but was dissuaded by the studio. That being said, the movie works very well for a post converted picture. You could tell he wanted to make this in 3D, and it shows from frame one all the way to the end. It’s one of the action movies of the last decade and one of the best movies to show off a 3D setup.
Iirc, this movie was shot in native 3d; and shows off all aspects of your home theatre’s capabilities. The plot doesn’t require you to know anything about previous mad max nostalgia. Just a post apocalyptic plot and plenty of action.
